Egg Donation in Toronto, Canada
IVF with egg donation is a safe assisted reproduction procedure with high success rates. A known or anonymous donor can donate this egg to help the intended parent(s) conceive. In this process, the egg(s) are extracted from the donor and fertilized in the laboratory with sperm from the prospective father or a donor. The fertilized eggs (now known as embryos) are placed in the uterus of a gestational carrier or recipient woman.
Who should consider opting for an egg donation?
Your medical history, evaluation, and family structure may determine the need for egg donation/egg donor. If any one or more of the following conditions apply to you, consider opting for an egg donor/egg donation.
- If you have a limited ovarian reserve and your ovaries do not produce enough eggs due to genetic disorders, cancer treatment, or premature menopause.
- If your ovaries generate low-quality eggs due to advanced reproductive age (over 38 yrs)
- If your ovaries have genetic abnormalities (hereditary conditions), you may have a lower probability of having a healthy pregnancy.
- History of a genetic disorder.
- Whether you are a same-sex male couple or a single person looking to have children
- If you have not responded to fertility medications or IVF
